Bouncing between Austin and Bali, Shimmer Island combines electronic beats with shimmery soundscapes and hooky harmonies.  What founder Jeremy Roye calls 'folktronica' often deals with love, healing and empowerment.  The live show incorporates those elements including moments of meditation and breathwork.  

Shimmer Island's recent album No Man is an Island was inspired by the moment that Jeremy had to send his 8-year-old daughter alone on a plane back to her mother in France during the height of the pandemic, not knowing when or where he would see her again, and the deep, inward reflection and challenges that followed.  

Shimmer Island's most recent track released on Instragram is an homage to Daniel Johnston and mental health awareness, released on "Hi How Are You Day" and live-streamed to campuses across the United States.
